Rocco’s on Main St is a charming place to check out in Clifton Park. I’ve been there a few times to have appetizers and a glass of wine at the bar, but this past Saturday we had our first sit down dinner there. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and they had an excellent wine selection. We started with oysters and Arancini smothered with the most delectable red sauce I've had in a long time. It’s worth the trip to Rocco’s just for these, they are wonderful (and addicting)!
It was hard deciding on what to get for dinner since there are so many things I’d like to try on the menu. I ended up going with the Filet Au Poivre which was cooked to perfection and came with whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus. My husband had the Angus burger topped with aged cheddar, cipollini onion jam, pickle chips and hand cut fries. I loved the chilled spicy pickle chips on top of the hot melted cheese and onions. It was a really great burger that hit the spot on a cold night.
Rocco’s is one of my favorite spots and I can’t wait to go back and try some other dishes. If I can make one recommendation, get a glass of the Rodney Strong Cabernet and the Arancini, they're a match made in heaven!
